In Thailand, two brothers have confessed to assaulting a law professor who's leading a campaign to reform the country's controversial lese majeste law, which protects the monarchy from criticism or insults. Thammasat University law professor Worajet Pakeerat, who was beaten up by two men on Wednesday, said the attack was linked to his campaign to amend section 112 of the Criminal code, or the Lese Majeste law. Professor Worajet is a member of the group, Nitirat, or 'Enlightened Jurists' seeking to reform the law. Dr Puangthong Pawakapan, a political scientist at Thailand's Chulalongkorn University, is a member of the Campaign Committee for the Amendment of Article 112.
